tuesday comes fast

gosh, just when i think i'm gonna have time to write a little somethin somethin, its tuesday again.
oh well. i'll admit its been pretty fun for me to check the ol blog everyday to see what clever fun stuff you guys got for me. after last weeks massively successful question, i feel a bit nervous to try and top it... i was soooo loving all your guys' answers. it was especially fun to hear from some of you who never comment, even if it was about poop, diarrhea or ahem, size... of course i was also loving roxanne weighing in with 30+ years of experience. thanks again y'all. even though all you guys -- don't pretend like you aren't out there-- were to chicken to comment, the rest of you definitely made me smile.

so with that said, i'm reaching my hot little hand into that clever little box and here's what i got....

'should we have a national healthcare system?'

oops! now that we know as clever as this little box is, it does not tell the future...so lucky for you, you get a hall pass on that dreadfully boring heated subject.

because i want to help you conserve your energy for what really matters this week (easter) i'll give you one that has some choices. again, feel free to answer why, or in a lot of your cases, which one you've actually done and how it turned out for you.

'would it be worse to discover your teen had thrown a kegger in your house, slept with her boyfriend in your bed, or wrecked your car?'

Yes!! Major brownie points for being the first one to comment. I know the way to your heart... i say definitly the sexin it up in my bed. i could care less if zaiah crashed my mazda mpv...she'd be doing me a favor and cars can be replaced. her virginity never can and i'd be sooo bummed if she lost that before she was married. okay peace out!

i think it's going to be a landslide w/ #2, thankfully my times about worrying about those kinds of things are past and can worry about the next generation

Definitely #2 as well. The first would make me angry and the third would be majorly inconvenient, but the second would make me cry. :( -Rhiannon

Just discovered your blog, great question.
100% no doubt #2. I would be heartbroken if it was my daughter or son.

looks like it's a trend here- I would definitely have to say #2. As Jess said- cars can be replaced. I'd be pissed about the kegger party but #2 would be a whole slew of emotions- sadness, anger, disgust (because let's face it, anyone besides you and your partner having sex in your bed is just yucky). I think I'd be pretty disappointed and devastated to be honest.... teens have no business havin' sex, period and i don't just mean for moral reasons, those kids can't handle it emotionally.

you know me.. i love to be different and stir up some crap, but I have to say #2 as well. There is so much more involved in that decision, that will affect them and the other person for the rest of their life to some degree. Huge deal...huge.

I too agree with the others. #2 for sure. So many life long consequences can come with this one. I'd be heartbroken too.

Umm for sure #2. I would be devastated. I feel sad just thinking about it.

Well, it can't be #1 because I threw the biggest kegger Grass Valley had ever seen when my parents went to Hawaii. So I'm somewhat expecting that to come back around on me.

And if my kid got in an accident big enough to wreck my car I think I would be so thankful he was okay the car wouldn't really matter. Plus, my dad works in insurance so we're covered.

So, yeah, it's #3 for me as well. But is it wrong that the part about it being in my bed upsets me the most?!

I meant #2!

#3 for sure. But then again, I drive a Yaris, so...

I'd have to say #3 b/c of the serious physical harm that can occur in a car wreck - even a little one can be pain to get over and come back to haunt you. Maybe it's cuz I teach high schoolers or am getting over a really painful back episode, but the first two choices definitely aren't the worst for me. No, I wouldn't want a kegger or sex in my bed (on separate occasions or the same), but those would cause emotional hurt (except the hangover part) and that, while painful, provides room for growth.

I think I'd have to agree with most of the comments... number two would probably be the worse. Of course that depends on how bad the car accident was and if just the car was totaled or if there was serious physical injury to my child. BTW holls, unless I missed something we're still waiting for your answer to last weeks question.

a quick comment on your original question about healthcare... even though you didn't actually post it, I think we could learn a thing or two from our neighbor down south. In Mexico where there is virtually no private insurance industry the cost to just go to the doctor is significantly less. It's less than $1500 to have a baby compared to the 10K plus here in the U.S. I don't know about public healthcare but I do know there is something seriously wrong with the insurance industry!

I will take the hall pass on the healthcare question..not even going to open that can of worms..as for the second question..Paul and I were just discussing it. His choice would be'wreck your car'-given that it would go on his insurance..and what if our son was hurt or something..as for me..boy..really I could would be a bit upset with the keggar, but might could see Paul and I wanting to partake in the fun..as for sleeping in my bed with a girl/or boyfriend..eeeww..that is a thought I don't want to even have. And in my own bed..Pauls comment was..at least we could wash the sheets....
